Excess nutrients in water also corollary to excessive growth of algae that deprive aquatic plants and animals sufficient levels of oxygen to survive. Because of this many aquatic organisms die and decay which aggravates the problem.

Unless man realizes that it is not the prohibition of pollutants nor banning commercial productions that should be changed but the behavior and attitude he possesses towards his environment, the rivers, lakes, and other water systems have no hope to be saved.
